    Hi
I have a 4 dr 2017 Tacoma Sport and both rear inner front fenders are curling in towards the tires. Has anyone else had this happen? The dealer seems to think it was caused by Rust Check anti corrosion spray applied to the underside of my truck. The Rust Check guy says many new vehicles are made of plastic and he has had no other incidents. Some one is full of shite, just not sure which one. Any help would be appreciated.

I noticed this the other day too when I washing my truck, does not seem like too big a deal.

My inner fender on the right side curled in far enough to rub onto the tire. Makes a hell of a noise when it rubs. At first I thought the noise was my trailer hitch rattling but it was the inner fender rubbing when I turned left. Was your truck Rust Check treated?

Wow sounds like yours is really curled, mine is only curled maybe an inch and no rust check spray.

I wasn't convinced the Rust Check was a factor. The inner fenders are very thin. Thanks for you input. This forum is a wealth of information and is much appreciated.

Mine curled in enough to rub on the tire. A couple of zip ties pulled it back into position. I have a combination of Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector and Fluid Film applied.

I'm sure you could have the dealer take care of this under warranty, but is it worth it? I'm sure a heat gun and 5 minutes of your time would fix this, and save you a trip to the dealer. A heat gun can be bought from harbor freight for $8 right now with their coupon.

They want approx $200 per inner fender at my dealership in Canada. I will try and reshape them with a heat gun but again they are very thin. I only have about 9000 kilometers or 5000 miles on the truck. I'm still hoping to have it covered by warranty if I can prove it was not the Rust Check causing the problem.

Whoa! I looked through the catalog and missed that. I've been wanting something better than the Wife's hairdryer. Ha!

    Thanks!

Just noticed mine are curling inward toward tire. One actually has a rub mark.

Tell them they should be proud to change them BECAUSE you used Rust Check. Otherwise they'd be replacing your frame in a few years.

I'm not a huge fan of HF, but I do have one of their heat guns and it's been a solid performer.
