Hey all, I just ordered a lift kit for my 2002 Extra Cab containing:

    - King 2.5 Coilovers for the front (25001-151-EXT)
    - Piggy back shocks for the rear (25001-153)
    - Icon Delta Joint UCAs
    - OME 2.25" Leaf Springs (EL122RA)

    the question:

So, I realize the rear shocks are technically meant for stock ride height.. That said, I obviously don't want to top out the shocks and destroy them. Are there any decent solutions that aren't, "go buy the shock that fits"?

Some solutions I have also seen are:
    - Remove a leaf and keep truck at stock ride height... (not great, as I want the lift)
    - Relocate rear shock (seems complicated, might not be able to DIY)
    - Use a limiting strap (not sure if I love the idea of limiting travel, but maybe that's the move)

I am in a position where I could potentially cancel the order, but I just wanted to see if anyone can give me some "been there, done that" advice.

I don't see anything wrong with just getting 2.5 extended shocks of any brand. Bilstein 5100s have 2.5in clearance. Sure it's a mismatch but is it that big of a deal? Seems the Kings 25001-153's are rated to 1.5in of lift too.

I have these shocks with 2” lift dont get em, they topped out and i put a limiting strap in the meantime that i custom ordered kings that were longer. Cancel your order save yourself the trouble. I also had to remove the leafs cus it was over extending them.

Limit straps, or cancel the rear shocks and get ones that fit.
