If i installed add-a-leaf to the original springs and later one of my springs snaps off will the add-a-leaf void the recall?

Does anyone make a decent set that doesn't jack your rear end up higher than the front?

Well I mean higher than stock...or is that the price you pay for stronger springs?

You could get timbrens or airbags if you wanna stay at stock height but improve load handling

Might have to do that. I hauled 910lbs of block in the bed a couple of weeks ago and I thought I heard the bumper scrape a couple of times. I should've made two trips, but I effing hate home improvement stores and just wanted it to be over.

Will blocks in back from a lift void the Recall?

How long did toyota get back to you for the appointment? I call them twice and they said they'll call me back.

I just got my truck back from the dealership today for the leaf spring recall. I had the add-a-leaf in the rear and they said in order to do the recall, they would have to bring it back down to stock, as the replacement u-bolts would not fit with my add-a-leaf. For reference, I used the bottom of my 2" receiver hitch as a measuring point. On a flat surface, with my old springs and add-a-leaf, it measured 18 3/8". After the installation of the replacement springs, the measurement was 15 3/8". In all appearances, the new spring and the old springs look nearly identical. The old springs with the AAL were 4 springs thick and kept the truck at 18 3/8". The new springs are 4 springs thick and the bottom spring is a short thick spring, nearly identical in appearance to the AAL but the ride in the rear is a whole 3 inches lower. The new springs have new straps to keep things in place (as seen in MattN03's pics). My only options to get back to 18 3/8" are now a block or new springs. I cannot put the AAL back in since a spring is already in it's place. I guess my point in all this is that yes, Toyota will perform the swap if you have an AAL but will remove it and bring it back to stock. My new springs have a negative arch and no way to add another leaf unless I want to stack 2 on top of each other. It looks like I'll be reinstalling the old springs and looking for suitable replacements.

I too have the new Toyota leaf spring pack that now has 4 u-clips on each side. I was told by Wheelers that the pop rivit holding the inner clips could be removed (grind off head and remove rivits) in order to be able to install their AAL (2" lift) under the factory springs.
Can anyone confirm this to be true? If yes, would I need to install new (bigger) u-clamps to replace the ones that were ground off? Or, just run with the two outer most clips only?

Ok,... I've installed Wheeler's 2" lift AAL to my new Toyota 4 leaf spring sets with no problems at all. Just as Wheelers advertises and said originally when I called, the AAL fit right in (between the overload spring and top 3 leaf springs) without having to remove any clips or make modifications. The added lift provided by the AAL was exactly what I needed after having installed the Bilstein 5100s (all around) and new front coils also provided preassembled by Wheelers (lowest setting on front shocks).
I'm happy now.... No more "bro-lean" and the truck rides great! 230,000 miles on odometer.
