Hey guys looking to replace my rear leafs in my early 97. I have been looking into Northwest Off-Road's leafs as they are a direct fit. Any one have either of their packs in your Tacoma? I don't like the current flat leaf because i camp a lot in the summer and add a lot of weight which makes a negative arch. I don't want to do airbags and don't want an AAL. Ive looked at all-pro but the springs from them for my truck involves me having to weld on new hangers which I don't want to do either. I have a 3" shackle lift in the rear now but have the factory shackles still so a lifted spring wouldn't be a problem to replace. I spoke with Wheelers yesterday and they said that their 4/5 leafs are not meant to carry much more weight and they still are flat.

I do a fair amount of wheeling but am looking more for some leafs that will carry the added weight and still give me my 3" lift. Also im in the process of building a rear bumper that all said and done will weight around 200lbs so it would need to support that weight.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Have you considered the Dakars ?

Edit : I just noticed you have a '97 , and I'm not sure that the Dakars work with that year .

D'OH!!! just missed the Wheeler group buy! couldve got a 5 pack

But i would recommend the Allpro expedition 8 pack leafs. from what i have seen, they give you a very good lift and also will hold 400lbs extra supposedly. Check out Jlee's build, he got them and loves them. barely sag when on a trailer but still flex good

Alright guys so I decide I'm going to go with NorthWest Off Road heavy duty replacement leaf since there is no mods needed for my truck like the allpros require. The NWOR leafs say they give you an added 700lbs payload over stock so we will see. I'll post some before and after pics when they come in.

Why would you have to weld anything with the allpro expedition leaf pack? i didn't, bolted right in.
As far as i know only if you get the Ubolt flip kit would you have to weld, otherwise it will bolt right in.

On the Allpro springs for 95-97 trucks, you have to mount the front spring hangers 2" forward and the rear shackle hangers 1" back. 98-04 will bolt right in.
