REAR LICENSE PLATE MOUNT HOLES. After six years the mounting holes in the rear bumper plastic have enlarged to the point where even larger mounting screws will not snug up. Tomorrow going to try a melt/fill with an electric soldering iron. Wondering if anybody else has experienced this problem and what have you done for a fix.

I've never had a set that was wallowed out unless someone had put the wrong thread bolt in it. You know, an SAE bolt into a metric hole.

Instead of messing with the melting routine, why not just use a bolt and put a real nut on the back?

I had the same problem. I used a ton of plumbers tape around the screws and it's pretty snug.

Got it. Managed to get my fat fingers behind the bumper lip and installed longer bolts and nuts. First time got my fingers stuck (really narrow access) and thought I was gonna have to call 911 to be freed. LOL. Thanks for the feedback.

Does anyone sell security screws for the back license plate? No fronts in NM. There is a rash of stolen cars, plates, you name it in NM.

I bought plastic bolts with nuts. Snug up well and won't corrode. Just tighten until snug not megga torque. Get the kind that don't have a slot in the face. Less likely for someone to unscrew.

Any auto parts store. Should be in SS with an allen head with a bump in the middle, and a hole in the allen wrench

East Mountain resident here. Filled in the holes with JB Weld and installed screws. Probably not theft proof but better than nothing.
