I recently upgraded my truck to some OME BP-51 coilovers in the front to accomodate the extra weight from a winch and a bumper, but the rear sags a little now so I wanted to add some 1" rear lift blocks. If I wanted to put these in do I need to change out the shocks?

Get an AAL and some new shocks. Blocks and pucks aren’t welcome here in these parts.

    Need to? No
    Good idea? Yes
Even better get an AAl and new shock.
Or better yet get a properly specced leaf pack and new shock.

Do yourself a favor and don't put the shittiest lift possible on your $35k-ish new truck.

So, ignore the two previous guys. For whatever reason TW hates spacers, but guess what, IF YOU ARENT OFF ROADING AND DONT NEED THE SHOCKS/AAL WHO CARES. Now, if you’re going to off road, yes AAL And extended shocks may be a better option. You can safely run the stock shock with a 1” block. I have 5100 in the rear which are the same length as the stock shocks with a 1” block. If you’re just going for looks, the block is 100% fine. Don’t listen to the other “spacers are blah blah” people. Unless they’re paying for your parts don’t mind the small minded :anonymous:

I quality 1" block properly installed is not the end of the world. Definitely don't go higher than that. AAL is the preferred method, but it might raise the rear more than you want.

Based off the winch and armor he probably intends to use his truck off-road. Why invest so much in the front and cheap out in the rear.

Again, want and needs. Just because he has that does not mean he will be off roading it every weekend. Some just like the looks. Just keeping his options open and not closed.

Maybe some people aren’t looking for the performance and just want looks?
I mean, if you wanna slide me $$$ I’ll be more than happy to make sure everyone gets suspension lifts to make ya happy

Dude dropped a pretty penny on the front suspension. Why not the rear?

Do you have pucks? Do you need to talk to someone about it?

My friend has wheeled the shit out of his 06 off road (with bumper/winch) with 1" blocks in the rear. I had upper and lower spacers on my old Tacoma for 10 years and wheeled the shit out it.

They may not be the preferred method but it CAN get the job done. The law of diminishing returns says paying 400% or more the money for a 25% gain in performance and longevity may not always be worth it. Give people options and choices and they can do whatever the hell they want, that's my motto.

Idk why people hate on them, my friend has a 2nd gen trd offroad with a 1 inch block and takes it offroading almost every month without one problem ever. I probably just wouldnt go higher than 1 inch

I just put a one inch block in the rear with my 6112/5160 set up because I didn’t have the cash for a new leaf pack. I just took her off-road and handled just fine with flexing and speeds of up to 50. Now is the 1 inch block ideal? No. But it works fine for its intended use and only costs 50 bucks with bolts. I think the aal is a waste of time and money and again only a temporary fix just like the block. I plan on getting a real leaf pack which will give you better performance then a block or aal.

No, you can run stock rears up to 1"-1.5" IIRC & a 1" block isn't Armageddon, but 2 points to make, you have invested well into the front , it just makes good sense to at least upgrade the rear shocks , point no#2. If you haul regularly you really need to consider a good AAL in the 1"-1.5" range of lift & they're out there & not too expensive ...
