Hey guys Im trying to get another inch or inch and a half out of my rear. I already have a wheelers 3 leaf installed but I have the camper shell on the back and I wanna level the truck out but keep the shell on. I was thinking about shackles, Im trying not to go with blocks.. Ive been trying to find a 1.5 inch lift shackle but I heard they put a lot of stress on the leafs which I dont want to do.. so Im stuck... would the best option be just to wait and get a whole new rear pack, which involves waiting and more money or will I be ok with shackles?..Thanks-Swanny.

may work but Id worry about the ride quality........hes got the wheelers which is progressive. Throwing a thick 2" may make the ride stiffer than he likes... then he may also need longer shocks also, and then again brake lines may be an issue..... can o worms, can o worms.

even a toytec 1.5 single aal is IMHO much stiffer than a progressive.

he wants 1.5" of lift. if he puts a 1.5" single leaf back there itll be fine. its not going to put 1.5" on top of the wheelers pack, itll add to it slightly. anything he does is going to stiffen it up some. id just put a single leaf on and save up for all pros or dakkars

he says "or will i be ok with shackles?" idk maybe someone can chime in but i have never heard of 1 1/2" shackles adding stress to the leafs. Now 6" lift shackles is a different story...

Top Gun Customs make a 1.5 inch lift shackle. so the shackle is 3 inches longer then stock( I think), Ive heard that shackles put stress on leaf springs. I am running the overload I suppose I could take that out the overload leaf and throw the toytec 1.5 on. When I did my Ubolt flip I raised the shock mount up about an inch from the stock location so hopefully the length of my 5125s will be long enongh...

I will have to look more on this shackle stuff i have never heard that before. and i dont think that you will get a true 1.5 more lift with the AAL.

So it looks like having a lift shackle will add stress to the front of the pack but not much for only a 1.5" lift shackle.

Im pretty sure Ive read it on here(TW) before. Im not against running a lift shackle, but with stock leafs(1st Gen) I was just trying to figure out if it was a good idea or not... The AAL would be harder to "dial" in amount of lift Im looking for and would be stiffer..

shackle sounds like the easiest quick fix. but a new pack would be the best bet in the long run :D
