Whats up guys. I’m wondering what’s one way to get a quick lift in the rear for my 2003 Tacoma double cab without buying leaf springs? Maybe some shackles ? Or a add a leaf? Thanks

Aal will give lift but may stiffen the ride some
Shackles will give lift but they say it will decrease the life of the leafs
Blocks will give lift but increases axel wrap
All are 3 cheap options, personally i woukd say aal

How much lift are you looking to gain? I.5 or less I'd say shackles , 2 or 3 inches blocks would be easiest

I just added a camper shell so it sits. A little bit lower plus me and my wife go camping a lot and all the weights brings it down more. So maybe I’ll add a ad a leaf but let me post a pic of my current leafs I think it already had extra leafs from the previous owner.

You should look into a 3leaf aal that will help support the extra weight and give lift

I just put a generic AAl from 4 wheel parts... it was apx $30 and took maybe an hour on the first side and 20 minuets on the next.

That sounds like exactly what I was just wanting to do something simple. Does anyone know what’s the max of leafs I can add on each side?

If you do aal be sure you have or get longer U bolts your currents will be too short.

Looks like someone already installed a 3 Leaf AAL and U bolt flip kit. That gave you 1.5" or so of lift in the back. Your next step may be a new set of leafs from Deaver or Alcan if you wanna go higher.

You could but I imagine a single aal and a 3 pack wouldn't work well together. The ubolts I would replace with longer ones if you did that.

You could do a shackle lift but like others stated it acts like a lever for any loads on your truck or do what I (OMD mod) and have a bastard leaf pack of chevy and toyota leafs for cheaper options but not exactly the best however they may work fine for you.

The next step up would be new leaf packs either off the shelf or custom

carefull on how high you lift the back. If you go too high the gap between the top of the back tires and fender opening will be VERY noticable as compared to the front. It just doesnt look right. My installation of the AAl required me to lift the front via the clip on the Bistein 5100's 1 notch to keep her kind of level. The AAl also solved the axle wrap/drive away clunck issue I was having.
