Leave in neutral. Engage it wait till it stops blinking, try driving forward a little as well. Mine does that too but it locks on after either moving forward or just letting it sit minute. It's weird

try turning *slightly* while rolling forward or backward when the light is flashing to see if you can get the gears to line up. you'll hear a click and then the light should go solid.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
We just had a guy have problems with his locker on the last wheeling trip. His light flashed for just about the whole trail before it locked. Sometimes on the 1st Gens if the locker hasn't been used in a long time it's temperamental. Find a dirt road and cruse in 4lo 1st gear for a mile or two steering the wheel back and fourth wile driving and see if it locks up.

dont go to the stealership. too much money. Go to a local shop that is familiar with off road vehicles or jap trucks. Its a locker. Im sure most mechanics know how to work on them. Stealership will just lie and say you need a new whole axle and driveshaft. Your frame is cracked and you need new wiring through out your truck. lol . They'll hose you man
