I have a 2005 PreRunner SR5 without limited slip, and I was wondering how difficult it would to get rear lockers for my truck. Want to try and get it as close as the TRD off road package. Any Help would be extremely appreciated

ARB will cost about 7-800 then add an air compressor for 125-250. Then add about 5-600 for labor, 225 for master install kit then you might as well regear if you are going with bigger tires so add gears about 150. OTD its a pricey thing that you should do IF you will use and NEED it.

    Welcome.

You can try to find a complete rear axle and swap it out, or add an ARB air locker in.

    How about installing limited slip?

Or you could go a cheap route (not quality-parts cheap) and get a full time locker by Powertrax. Do a quick search on it. Drivability is not like a TRD sport by all means but it is a cheaper alternative to being locker, check it out.

If your going to go through the hassle of putting something in I wouldn't even bother with a limited slip. Locker is the way to go.

Where exactly in the IE are you?

For the most part I have been able to survive just fine with my current BFG ATR 265/70R-17 and a 3" lift. But I have been holding back a little with some trails because I am afraid that without limited slip or a rear locker I wont make it.

As of right now it might not be worth almost 2k to do a complete install. The Powertrax might work best for me.

Def still open for ideas and very grateful for the input!

Go out with a locker or 4x4 buddy. I'm open diff and I amazed myself a few times being able to do what I did, try it you might be pleasantly surprised.
