97 tacoma 3.4 5 spd. Replacing the clutch and going to put a rear main seal in as well. Any tips on getting the old seal out and the new seal in without damaging anything

I found that the easiest way to remove the rear main seal is to remove the rear main seal housing and then knocking out the old seal. The seal housing has a lip on the passenger side that you can use to pry it off the block. The toyota FIPG surprisingly has a pretty good hold on it, so just be patient and use a good-size pry bar to pry it off. Make sure all the bolts are removed (especially the two bolts holding the seal housing to the oil pan) before prying. I would use toyota fipg when reassembling the seal housing to the block. IIRC the torque for the oilpan bolts and seal housing bolts is 81 in-lb.
