I'm looking to remove my rear mirror in my tacoma because I have a camper shell and can't see out the back anymore. It's pretty much just a glorified garage door opener at this point.

I'm looking at adding a HAM radio and I feel like that would be a great spot to mount it but I'm wondering if anyone has done this or knows of a mount I could buy to replace the mirror?

While I cant help you much, I will point out that most states have a law that says "you must have at least 1 mirror with a unobstructed view of the rear" You can actually drive a car with a single mirror and be fine. I ran a old BMW with only the center mirror and never had any problems. Many older cheap cars dont even have a passenger mirror.

Not sure of any mount that would help but the mirror mount most likely will not support the weight of a radio. You will probably have to built custom brackets to mount to the overhead console support brackets.

CPS-65 I’m good for some, but I’m not for everyone.

I've been messing around with mounting on my Kenwood TM-V7A. As it turns out, it'a little harder than with my old full size that had lots of room for accessory stuff. I want that at a glance readability, but most of the good space is already taken up and my OCD for clean install is making it difficult. I like yours, but I need my mirror. I'll figure it out eventually

This strikes me as a bad idea. Mirrors have that breakaway tab for a reason. If you get into a crash, your head hitting that mirror will be less severe if it breaks off. You mount a giant radio there, you'll most likely be seriously injured if you hit that thing with your face. I'd place the radio elsewhere.

    Just my $0.02.
