Rear recovery point without tow hitch?

    I don't understand. Do you mean the bumper is hanging down lower than it needs to?

    The bumper attaches to the hitch. If you remove the hitch you need the brackets. The hitch is heavy so once it's removed your suspension will not sag as much, causing the rear end to sit a bit higher.

    My hitch is aftermarket, drawtite or something like that. But it's just a 2.5" piece of square tubing with brackets. I can't believe it weighs more than 25 lbs.

    Before you remove it you probably want to confirm if the bumper is bolted to the hitch so you know if you need the brackets. I'm not sure how aftermarket receivers attach.
