Did you know if the TSB springs have been added? If not, those may help.

Yeah, I figure it’s going to be an expensive endeavour to upgrade my leafs and I’m eventually going to get a compressor. Ive only had my truck since August, so I’m still figuring these things out. My current leafs are very clearly overloaded and that’s kind of why I’m leaning in that direction more as well.

I don’t want to be rude, I am just wanting to express that airbags are not the worst solution and there is a reason mechanics have recommended them.

ps I never noticed any swaying in my truck with airbags either. Sounds to me like that person that suggested the swaying didn’t have good shocks?

Doesn’t seem rude to me, just reaffirms everything I’ve been told by professionals. I had really just been getting the feeling that no one was listening to me because I’m a woman. But maybe I’m the one who needs to reconsider.

The end decisions sits with you, just wanted you to know that airbags are a viable solution.

While you’re here do you know any good leaf spring shops or shops that would install leafs or airbags for the OP in the Utah Wyoming Idaho MT area?

FWIW I have the exact same truck with the TSB springs and Progressive AAL. This is the before and after when hauling a pallet of tile that was at least the weight you're carrying and probably more. I'm guessing 800-1000lbs range. Hope this gives you a better idea of what you'll be expecting.

I will say the ride is stiff but that could also be the 10-ply tires.

I went with Sumo Springs, blue version. It was an easy install (after breaking the bond on the u-bolt nuts), no maintenance and I have not had buyer's remorse. Around $200 if memory serves me correctly.

    Been there.
I have shell, big spare, ammo can with parts and tools.

My 14 has the updated leafs. I installed a aal.

It helped but stock springs are terrible.
I upgraded to dobbinson leaf springs and couldn't be happier. Carries my ass well and didn't lift the truck a whole lot.

    Look into them

The ICON Rxt leaf springs at stage 3 will work for you. Check them out.
    Simple, reliable.

Sumo’s, bags, new leaf packs or AAL all simply affect the spring rate. The difference is in whether it’s linear or progressive and where the load is transferred from the frame. Leaf packs and AAL’s keep the load spread to the ends of the leaves and Sumos and bags put the extra load at single points where the bump stops used to be be. I haven’t noticed any extra sway with bags but mine don’t share inflation tubing so there’s no air transfer on corners. In fact, it’s much more stable with them than without or under inflated. That said, it sounds like you’d probably be happier with Sumos, an AAL, or new leaf packs. Sumos would be the easiest, AALs the cheapest. New stock packs would be a waste since they’d go flat too quickly. AALs might not last well either. If you’re loaded all the time then a heavier duty set would be the top shelf option but not as affordable as Sumos.

If you are on the original leaf pack, it needs to be replaced. If not a new leaf pack, I would go with the very least a wheeler's progressive 3-leaf aal.

I went with ATS Springs on my truck. Theyre a shop out of Pennsylvania that’s been mentioned on here before. They build custom leaf packs to suit.

cheaper than Dakar’s which a ton of people run but way better performance and no squeaking. I got about a 3 1/2”-4” lift from them with the 4+1 kit.

there’s a thread on here from a few years ago in which a member was selling them, I think the guy’s name was blackout or something close to that. Either way they’ve performed great and I’ve been nothing but happy with them. I can send you the guy’s Instagram too if you’re on there.
