My drivers side rear seatbelt is seams to have dislodged and is rattling around. The thing is, I can't "pop" it back into place. If you look, you'll see a gap between the seatbelt and the side panel, but on the passenger side (which is fine) there is no gap.

Does anyone know how to fix this? There's not much info online about the rear seatbelts

    Gap (drivers side):

No gap (normal on passenger side):

I've tried to just push it back in but that's not working.

It should also be noted that the drivers side seatbelt is brown vs my passenger side which is gray; so it seams like the drivers side has been replaced before at some point by a previous owner.

Did you try to tighten the bolt that holds into the anchor point? If that bolt is tight than maybe the bolt is to long.

hmm, good point, i'll try that today. Does anyone know what the bolt connects to? Is it just a nut on the other side?

There should be a welded on threaded attachment point behind that trim panel. If you can see the head of the bolt under that cover that's flipped up, just try tightening it.

so i took the bolt out and re-tightened it, and it’s as snug as can be, but still the same problem. seams as though the bolt is just too long?

but i couldn’t take the bolt out since it had some sort of locking washer on it.

the different color of the seatbelt tells me one of the previous owners replaced this in the past.

anyone know a part number for this bolt? IMG_9404.jpg

the threads on the bolt do seam a bit tampered with… would anyone be able to take their bolt out and post a picture of what it looks like?

or perhaps i should just remove the black spacer?

You could remove the bolt on the other side to compare...it's possible whoever replaced that seat belt used a spacer that's too thick. That retaining washer should thread off.

Is possible that prior owner installed wrong belt

    -that bolt…
A-might be able to replace just bolt…..IMO, I think is kinda a part of the belt assembly
You could try to RR bolt though (ace hardware)
    B-those threads look stripped….like midway
I would clean those up as best u can with a file/awl
I have found out that those SB bolts are very finicky going back into place

-that black 5mm spacer….from your pix, looks like brown belt extending too far out
If u can remove spacer, replace with some washers to make smaller

Remember, you have a good reference on opo side

Thanks! as for the threads, i did notice that, it looks like theyve been tappered with at the end of the bolt. I'll take the other side out and see what it looks like to compare

So the bolt and washer on the other side are exactly the same size. I think what the problem is, is the nut either was installed incorrectly from the factory, or has been tampered with, and isn't letting the bolt on the drivers side go all the way through because it is installed on a slight angle, cuasing the bolt to make contact with the metal sidewall.

    Something I'll live with.

    A firm^^^^

    on SB note….
I just did bench to bucket swap
    I did unbolt belt
When re-installing, felt lil resistance with hand wrench. I backed bolt out…..2 threads mangled (I barely tightened)
I could not finger install the bolt
    I resorted to impact drill….went in….tight….no wobbling.

now, if I ever have to take SB bolt off again, I’m in trouble
