Rear Seat Delete?

Anyone planning on doing a rear seat delete on the OR; I wonder if it's going to be any different than previous generations of the Taco. I'd like to do one and build a platform for my 100 lb Pittie/Mastiff for over landing adventures, which I assume would be MUCH cheaper than buying one if/when they come out. Thanks!

 

I have a 75# Labrador who is my service dog partner, I fully intend to delete the seat to add drawers below the platform

 

A drawer system sounds like a great idea, but my carpentry skills have deteriorated as I've gotten older (I'll be 71 in May), so I'm thinking of a hinged platform that will allow access to the storage area. Might also see what comes out for a delete kit in the future, and Goose Gear seems to make a quality product, but it's about 5 times more tham some other Gen 3 kits, so only time will tell. I hope that you and your service dog partner are enjoying your new Taco (I don't have mine yet and might go to the Tundra SR5 w/OR), and don't stay mad about Spyder forever!

 

Mine is an excess cab one of the first thing I did was flip the seats up take the consoled out and make a platform for junk and/or the dog. Personally I think it is criminal to make some one ride back there!

 

Yep, it does seem rather cramped back there, even in the double cab, but I've had the back seats in my 4 door '22 Bronco BD folded down since I got it on 11/28/22, and I never had anyone sit back there, so I don't imagine I'd ever need the back seat in a Taco or Tundra!

 

I'm planning for a rear seat delete..whenever my OR eventually lands.
80lbs husky/golden retriever mix and rarely ever have more than my gal in shotgun and dog in back. More often then not I'll be solo at work and the delete allows for more dry cargo space.
That said for the odd time we have a back seat passenger, I'd like to plan out the delete with the option of returning the 40% seat when needed.
I've screen shot just about all the best 2nd and 3rd gen rear deletes I've found in the forum for motivation and can't wait for my truck to get here so I can start hands on templating.
Just this morning we had a new water heater delivered and the crisp 5' tall and thick cardboard box I carefully broke down and stored the sections between plywood sheets for template material. Not as good as foam board but it will do if need be.
A combo of drawer and flip up would be handy but we'll see what works best once we get into the thick of it. Looking forward to see what others do in their 4th gen and I will post mine as I go.

Anyone know if the 3rd Gen Goose Gear Seat Delete would bolt into the 4th Gen

 

Maybe a kid but even that seems like purgatory. I bought the AC for the space not the seats.
