I have an Access Cab and I keep a fire extinguisher and jumper cables in the bins under the back seats (to the extent not occupied by the bottle jack and spare tire tools). Subdividing that space would prevent carrying (relatively) large objects like that. Counterproductive, IMO.

The same thinking goes for subdividing the console compartment. Doing so would make it less useful. (A console tray, on the other hand, is very useful.)

I've got a set that I cannot use. @nola_jim and I have written each other, and he knows I'm selling it in this thread. I bought it from him on Ebay on Feb 19, 2021 for $27 plus $15.20 shipping. Same cost ($42.20) to ship it to you. Drop me a line.

    SOLD

Maybe it’s just me but I never got the idea behind these so-called “organizers”. I mean, all that stuff would still fit there without the dividers breaking up the room into smaller spaces, but a larger item that otherwise would now won’t.

Same as drawer systems in a bed. They just occupy or take up more space that an otherwise larger item would fit into without them. Seems like a psychological gain but not an actual gain.

Anybody else with me, or am I just fucked up in my way of thinking?

It is an "organizer," which is about convenience, not increasing space. You are correct that the items will still take up the same amount of room (or maybe even less room) without the organizer. But it's the same concept as a file cabinet - you can either have a giant stack of paper (which would be smaller than a file cabinet), or you can have a cabinet/box that it all organizes neatly into, so that you can quickly access what you need. For me, the organizer allows me to quickly grab a pair of gloves or a can of WD-40 without having to dig through a bunch of tow straps or pull a bunch of other stuff out first.

Same concept with bed storage systems. Sure, you could pile your bed from floor to top with tools and misc. items, but as soon as you need the tool at the very bottom of the very back, it's going to be hell to get it. If you have a long drawer with dividers in it, you can easily and quickly access every item that you have in the bed. I am in agreement with you, however, that some of these drawer systems are way too big. I am huge on using virtually all available space, and I can't stand seeing some of these setups that literally waste tremendous amounts of cubic volume. I understand that you need to sacrifice a little bit of space for the sake of organization (back to my file cabinet reference), but I'm not going to consume half of my bed for what can fit into a simple toolbox.
