Rear seat storage bin delete

Has anyone removed the metal frame for the floor mounted storage bins in their back seat?

(sorry for terrible angle this is the only picture I have right now lol)



I'm going to be rebuilding my rear seat delete deck and I hated the storage bins opening from the top and want to replace them with long drawers that will open from the ends. I haven't been able to find any pictures of anyone cutting it out to do this. As far as I can tell the only reason for this framing to be here is to support the front of the back seats and the boxes are just a lazy way to fill the space. I can't see any problems arising when I cut this out.
