Can you furnish a picture? I looked all over for those little pockets and did not see them. I do have leather seats, so maybe leather doesn’t have them?

Photo from the internet, but I can confirm they’re on leather. I have them. 56DF80E0-5E67-454C-A3A2-DEE92005C5DE.jpg

If they save a $1 a truck and are cranking out 250,000 a year they just saved $250,000 for something 99% of people wont notice or care about.

I would rather pull the seat cushion with a tab than with my greasy hands while looking for a tool in my under seat storage. They have their place, so I am thankful for the part number.

I read that they stopped putting pull tabs on. So when I traded in my old Tacoma for a new one I kept my tabs

And there is also no latch right? I test drove one this week and the back seat just tips up without having to release anything. Was wondering if that is normal or something is missing?

Then how does it stay back? We are talking about the back of the back seat right?

    hmmmm......guess I'll keep this alive.

My '06 AC has pull tabs and latches on the "back" seats. Although, I'd never make anyone sit in the "back" seat. Kinda like parking your A55 on a 2x6, but there are seat belts.

    Anyone jealous???

The pull tabs on the seat cushion have been removed. Those are what I’m referring to. The back of the seat does have latches.

If the seat back didn’t stay in place than it may have been a defective latch. Sometimes the seat back needs to be slammed to latch properly. I had a 2016 and now a 2020 3rd Gen so I am quite familiar with the way the seats work.

Perhaps you have not thoroughly read this thread. The conversation revolves around the pull tabs for the bottom cushions, which Toyota has done away with to save $1.00. The bottom seat cushions stay in place by being “wedged” in place without a latch. However, there were once pull tabs to assist in pulling them out. The seat backs have always been latched in place and have their own pulls which unlatch them. These are different from the pulls formerly on the bottom cushions which pull the unlatched seat cushions out.
