I ordered fox 2.0 ext resi for my Tacoma last fall from accutune and just got around to mounting them as I don't have garage and we've had a long winter. Turns out the rear shock eyelets are too wide for my stock shock mounts. I see that in the order confirmation they are modified 4runner and Lexus shocks, maybe Accutune forgot to replace the lower eyelets? I tried both shocks to see if either would fit and no luck.

I'll give them a call tomorrow AM but just seeing if anyone has an idea?

The eyelets or just the bushings with metal sleeves?...

I should of specified, the rubber bushings with the metal sleeve are too wide/thick for my shock mounts.

Wide and/or thick is sort of the wrong description as well.

The size of the diameter on the metal sleeve; is it too small or too large?

It's not uncommon to simply replace those bushings with the appropriate set.

When I had a 1st Gen Tacoma, I opted for a different set of Fox 2.0 shocks for the rears rather than the vehicle-specific shocks for more travel.

Got my shocks and they were like this -

Went through another vendor and bought the appropriate bushings, replaced them, and as easy as that I replaced my rear shocks as it was a 10 minute job.

The circled piece made it where the shock mount was too skinny for the shock. If I understand what you're saying I can possibly just buy the appropriate bushings and it'll fit?

Edit: that's dirt not rust lol

Google search shows what your vehicle needs; did you look it up?

Coincidentally enough my old Tacoma needed the same hourglass bushing as well.

    Simple enough to replace.

Called accutune, they said sometimes Toyota over torques the lower shock mounts and they get pushed together. Accutune recommends taking a razor blade to the bushing as they say this happens all the time. I'll work on it today, thanks accutune!

Nice, was completely wrong myself on this one. But hopefully helpful for a 1st Genner that comes across this based on what I shared.

It's interesting that a little clean-up doesn't allow the fitting of said bushing into your shock mount.

I’ve had that issue with a few fox shocks. The inner sleeve is usually the correct width so I just sand down the bushing a bit so it fits properly.

Oh no you didn’t!!!!! I have the same rear shocks. I’d probably remove the resi and mount it on the frame like they’re designed.

If I put a locknut on the back of that bolt it's going no where. Tire doesn't rub either
