    What tool would you recommend to remove rear shock if the tip breaks off?

    yep. Cut the plastic boot and clamp a vise grip on the shaft and undo the bolt. Piece of cake.

    +1 on this, had the same problem a few days ago and this was my solution. Obviously only do this if you are replacing the shocks.

    I'd attempt to grind a flat in with a dremel before resorting to ruining the shaft. Unless you're replacing it anyway, then it's time for a gas ax.

    Thanks guys! I was able to get it off with vise grips . Sawzall might of been quicker though

    6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
    Cut off wheel. There is actually a special socket for the top of that shock to hold it still.
