Rear Shocks, Rancho RS 5000 Or Bilstein 5100 ???

I'm going to replace the rear shocks on my 08 access cab very soon and not sure which route to go ? I can get the RS 5000's for right at $100.00 and the Billy's for about $160.00, both prices are TMD. I haul a 400# ATV a lot, other than that I have no other special requirements for shocks. So are the Bilstein's worth the extra money or will the Rancho's suit my needs ?

5100's for sure. Never been impressed with any ranchos i have ran on vehicles in the past.

 

I had no problems with the Ranchos on my Nissan. I'd recommend 5100s though for the Taco if you're looking for a quality price point shock/ strut setup. If you aren't lifting/ leveling, you can save $$ by not getting the adjustables.

 

I have not had good experience with Rancho 5000s. Their 9000s are much better. I have 5100s on my Taco and they ride nice and smooth, take big bumps very well. They don't have any impact on weight added to the bed except to probably ride softer. 400lbs in the bed of my 06AC makes the rear sag noticibly.

Ordered my Bilstein 5100 shocks today, $142.00 TMD with tax.
Hope to have them by next Wednesday and put on over the weekend.

Great call on the shocks......put them on my Tundra and love em.....had Rancho 9000's on my 40...switched to Bilsteins...like night and day....great shocks!

 

Once i decide to upgrade i'm going with the Bilstein 5100's.Had Rancho's on past trucks i've owned and wasn't satisfied.May even consider the 6112 Bilstein's.

 

Put 5100s on my 2005 (along with Ride Rite air bags), and thought they were great... Will do the same with my 2010, now that the rear is getting too soft.
