In order to get a little more interior space, I removed the rear seats in my extended cab Tacoma. I would also like to remove the rear shoulder belts but don't see how to get to the top mounts. There is a little pop in insert with "air bag" molded in. I removed the insert and the bolt behind it but the trim still seemed firmly attached. Any ideas on how it comes out?

There is a horizontal line about 12 inches from the top of the rear post, where
the two post panels clip together. Remove the 10mm bolt you found behind the
pop in insert with "air bag" on it. The top piece clips into the lower/bottom
piece. You will need to pull the gasket loose from the body (door frame) and
remove the plastic molding from the inside edge of the cab roof line. Where the
rear doors lock to the roof line are two 10mm bolts you will need to take out and
remove that plastic piece too. Having done that, you will be able to pull the plastic
panel free of the cab body. Pull gently but firmly. The panel is held in place with
plastic clips and should any of them not come free when the panel comes off, be
sure to remove them and place them in the corresponding spots on the panel
before reassembly. Once you have removed the plastic panel(s), removal of the
shoulder belt mechanisms is easy. Reverse the steps to reassemble and you're done.
