It opens just like the other windows in the truck. But since its not factory for the rear window per say it doesn’t have a limit “sensor” so you can’t just hold down the switch and let it open. I can hold down the switch until it’s almost fully open then I just “jog” it until i know where it needs to stop otherwise the motor will try and keep going and yank the cable right off bracket . It works great as long as you know the limits of the motor. Price wise it only cost me around $160 to do and a couple days to engineer how the motor was going to fit

My window motor came from a 10 year old impala. I crafted my own window bracket from schematics supplied by a poster from about a decade ago. Window opens in seconds. Motor has built in stops (detects resistance). Powered by a toggle switch on dash. Got about 25 bucks and 8 hrs labor! FWIW, I don't think this a DIY for those who are mechanically / electrically challenged or don't have access to lots of tools and "stuff" to craft parts and pieces. (for example, if you're asking yourself, what does that mean, this could be difficult mod for you)

I can't recall where I got the ram from, sorry. Amazon was still just selling books when I did the mod.

The rams do have internal stops.

Do you have a wider shot? How did you connect the cables to the window? What's up with the zip ties, are they part of this installation?

see post # 4....... Zip ties compress the tension springs on the motor until the window cables are adjusted and set. Reread the last sentence of my post. Good luck.

I meant the black ones. I know the white ones are used for installation. I should have been more specific.

I have a motor off of a Ram as well. I can run it till the bracket stops and hold the motor on without issue.

Someone should just start posting up links to the various rear window mods for the OP.

The motor mounting brackets were crafted from aluminum strap. The straps have a 90 bend / hook on one end and just drop down between the structural channel and rear bulkhead. They can't fall through, but, even with the motor insulated from rattling, the zip ties just secured the bracket(s) from moving (over kill, the motor couldn't move). This install was on an access cab. This motor has to sit precisely where it's at to fit in the "relief" in the molded seatback.

Thanks. I have an AC also. I wasn’t sure there was room for a motor on the back wall.
Now that I found the lower and upper gaskets on my slider were loose and I adhered them both in the window frame with silicone adhesive, and lubed the inside of the slider channel with silicone spray on a q- tip, the window slides so easily that I’m not even sure I want to bother with a power slider.
