So the other day I decided to throw a 2x6 through my rear sliding window. Just the middle pane, the one that actually slides. Did some digging into getting it replaced I was told $1200CDN on a new one from Toyota installed, or $500 for used installed. Or pay $500 deductible and insurance takes care of the rest.

I didn't really like an of those options so I called my local parts guru and he just so happens to have 2 of the middle panes kicking around so he would sell me one for $150. I figured I would throw it in and Bobs your uncle. Problem is, I can't seem to find one forum post where anone has actually done it? My parts guy says he has done it, but it was not easy.

Does anyone out there have any insight on this subject other than "It can't be done" I trust this guy and if he said he's done it, then he has. But surely he's not the only one?

Any help or leads are greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

I appreciate the reply. I did see that one, but I meant while the window was still in the truck. I guess I will have to just try and use a combination of techniques.

Tru 'dat! Had an air compressor I had in the truck bed put an impressive crack in the back glass. No one to blame but myself. Lesson taught, lesson learned. Just one of those, "Well just fuck me", moments.
