I dont use mine. I had this 1991 mazda single cab 2x4 for a while and when i would roll down the window i HAD to open the slider otherwise the wind would kill me..

I have a regular cab, so I can reach the sliding rear window easily - and I open it every time I (manually) roll the windows down - which is fairly often right now, but will soon be too hot. The airflow through the cab is so much nicer and quieter with it open than if you just roll the windows down. I'd imagine that if I had a double cab and couldn't reach it, I wouldn't bother. My brother's Honda Ridgeline has a power slider back there. That's what the Taco DC needs.

One negative - as someone already mentioned - is that if you have dirt or anything in your bed that can blow around, it will be sucked right inside your cab as soon as you open the rear window. I found that out the hard way a couple of weeks ago. I had parked under a tree that was dropping some kind of fuzzy caterpillar-looking pollen/seed pods all over my bed. I took off down the road and opened that window - and those things immediately got sucked inside ALL OVER my dash and cab - and me! It was a PITA cleaning all that out. So... make sure your bed is clean before you open.

my son is 4 and he thinks its cool to open it... H likes sticking his hands out...

What sucks is that he forgets to close it, and sometime I don't realize it's open, and it will stay open all day... normally it doesn'y matter, but there have been a couple of times where my laptop, sunglasses, other expensive stuff is just sitting there for anyony to reach in and grab...

    I voted "yes" and "no"

I generally do not open it. Too hot; Texas is that way a lot of the year.
But, when the weather is right, all windows down and slider open! Man, that's nice!

    :)

It is a dust vacuum. I tried it once. It is for the pavement or beach.

Use it if I ever have to carry a long item. For example I am currently renovating my bath and required some 12 foot lenths of copper and pvc pipe. Slide open the back window, pop a blank on the back seat and cover the dash with a towel and the 12 footers are not a problem.

have reg cab and have used mine twice to break in when i locked my keys in my truck. much cheaper than pop a lock, given u don't break anything. thankfully i haven't. other than that, i use it pretty often to let the wind blow over my bald head

I used mine in my '98 xtra cab all the time. Now with my DC only when my 7yr. old opens it. I'd love to have Tundra rear window.

The only time I have used it on my DC is when I was installing my Sirius antenna. I routed the antenna out thru the third brake light, so it was very handy having the sliding window open when I was fishing the wires thri the headliner and out thru the brake light.

The only time I ever open it is when I'm buying a long pipe or something that needs to stick out of the cab and in to the back.

    I never use my A/C.

Windows down with the slider open is how I roll.

It's interesting that more double cab owners DO NOT use it but more access and regular cab owners DO use it.

That is obviously due to the ease of reaching it. I used it yesterday and had to open before I got in and close it once I got out. I loved having it open though.
