One of the few things I don't like about my Taco is the buffeting and wind blast, even at low speeds when you have the window down. Super annoying - the only cure is to open the rear slider.

My kids use it nearly everytime they are in my truck. My daughter is to short to get in the back of my truck so she climbs through the window.

As long as there isn't crap in my bed (I park under a damn pine tree. needles and other crap is in my bed a lot...:() I'll open it. I notice more of a breeze with the fronts open and the rear open vs just the fronts.

I have a solid in mine but would love to have a slider. But then I have a regular cab so reaching it would not be a problem. I was going to trade an X-Runner for it but his ended up getting broke when we were taking it out.. Kind of ruined the night and wasted about 3 hours of work..

Folks who like riding with the windows down should really try it with the slider open. air actually comes in the slider and greatly reduces buffet.

but don't open up if water is draining off the truck top. if the slider is open and you crack a window, watch out! cause you will get a cold shower.

X2. I have thought about looking into what it would take to get the same setup. the whole rear glass power up/down thing. that would be awesome. but most likely EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!

edit: beer tastes good too. thats y i have one open right now!!!!!

They are actually not that bad. There is a place on Ebay that sales them for like $245.00 and the shipping is free.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170313046808

I would recommend a glass shop to take out the old one if you dont want glass every where. If you dont have the right tools it is a real pain in the rear to get the old window out. If you dont want to keep the window then a nice sledge and a good vacumn will work.

I hope this helps.. There are alot of owners that want the solid rear windows so you might be able to work a trade.

    As needed, and some not.
I think I have only used mine once at the drive in. Now its permanently open! Moving and something in the back slammed into the right side shattering it!! Anyone looking to get rid of one?

You can buy a sheet of Lexan, cut it to fit, and use that in place of the glass. Nice cheap option that will cost you very little aside from time and will never shatter in the future.

I would but my molding is torn, so I leave it closed since you have to replace the whole window and can't just replace the molding.
