Question for the audiophiles that have upgraded their sound system. I am currently upgrading mine and need opinions on rear speakers. I will be keeping the JBL head unit with Pac Amp. 12" sub in rear with mono amp. Component speakers in front powered by 4 channel amp. Also have a DSP. Question is should I upgrade the rear speakers so amp powers fronts on 2 channels and rear on other 2 channels. Or should I use 2 channels for tweets and 2 for front 6.5's and forget about the rears? I don't care about rear passengers sound because there is never anyone back there. Would upgrading the rears be beneficial to the overall sound quality? If so, would you go full range or just mid bass?

Rears can be nice making the cabin more “full” but if you’re going for audio quality, stick with a good front-only setup

+1. the rear locations are far too low and directly behind the seats to aid in the overall acoustic image. my experience trying to use them, no matter how loud they are, they drag the imaging downwards and behind you.

so it makes it seem less like the band is playing on the hood, and more like i'm watching a band from the catwalks above the stage.

Yeah I am going to ditch the rears. This also allows me the run the fronts fully active. Thanks for the input guys.
