Rear spring advise

    Hello
    I have 2015 sport 4x4 dbc sb ,stock . I have a leer shell and Carry approx 200lb in bed every day , tow a utility trailer occasionally with approx a ton of rock and dirt. Tow a bass boat aprox 3000lbs or less, single axle trailer . Not sure but it’s pretty tongue heavy , I can’t lift it.
    My truck has serious bro lean , constantly getting flashed for lights pointing up I guess? I want to change spring packs out. Looking to keep truck level or 1 inch over. Not interested in lift, my steering wheel already shakes enough. Would like to keep ride quality, almost never off road when I do it’s minor.
    I tried educating my self some but looking for actual real world experience recommendations. Right now I’m leaning toward Deaver u402 stage 2. I don’t want any squeaking. My stock springs are fluid film covered so I’ve never heard a squeak and want to keep it like that. The 402 say 2 inch lift but I’m guessing they will sag some ? Sorry for book .

    Best bet is to get air bags or sumosprings. Sumosprings would be the most cost effective if you are not looking to spend a lot on airbags. Also no maintenance on the sumosprings.

    Getting new leaf springs will only help for so long before they also start to sag as well.

    Yeah I was strongly considering air bags but I don’t think I want to deal with leaks or rotten bags . Def don’t want sumo springs.

    Ya I would stay away from sumo's, you'd be on them all the time.

    Bags would work well and keep your new springs from fatiguing while towing.

    Isn't that the point of sumosprings when towing? They will also keep your springs from fatiguing and sagging so much. You also don't have to deal with some of the problems of airbags.

    My 09 is similar with an ARE shell, 100+ lbs of tools, and often 200+ lbs camping gear, 200 lbs of steel skids, towed a 3000 lb boat, towed a 6000 lb 26 ft travel trailer (gone now) and some u-hauls over the years. Had stock 3 leaf and dealer switched to 4 leaf due to sag, then a few years later they were junk. Went to OME heavy duty so about a 3" increase and 5100s, added 5100s with stock coils set on notch 3 (1.75"), and a TW driveshaft all 8-10 years ago and min vibrations. Track has an 1.5" rack until fully loaded or towing then level. Rear spring poly bushing fell apart after 7 years probably from sandy grit backing in salt water but the other stock rubber never has. Many setups and opinions on how to do this so cost is usually a major factor so search the many posts on springs and lifts. Remember after about 2" in front you need new aftermarket UCA to get alignment I do/did not that's why the 1.75 setting. If fact after initial install I have never had to get an alignment and tires wear evenly with only10k rotate/balance. Pressure kept at 35. My older OME springs are stiff but what I needed as its a truck. No loud noise from them and new models have more/better pads between. Happy hunting on your lift.

    Well I just installed the ride rite air bags. I hope I can get used to it (stiff AF) even with min of 5 psi rear is 2 inches lifted . I’ll give it some time to settle if that doesn’t do it I might loosen lower bracket bolts and retighten when truck is on ground. I tightened them when suspension was full droop maybe it will settle . upload_2023-1-8_11-7-26.jpg

    Well , no way I was going to get used to terrible ride and have to deal with constant air pressure monitoring and maintenance so I pulled bags and received refund. I have summo springs in now , better than air bags but added a lot of stiffness. I’m considering cutting them down but then I would loose the total loss of body roll which I love . I guess there is no perfect answer?
