Rear Spring Pack Shims?

2021 Access Cab, LB, AT, V6, Off Road

Just took notice of pinion angle shims on my rear spring pack to spring perches. Strange that Toyota couldn’t weld the perches on the axel tubes correctly. OR perhaps they use the same axel for both wheel bases and my Access Cab and the short bed Double Cab take the shims and the Double Cab long bed does not? Anybody else seen the shims?
