Certified used just covers specific parts of the vehicle, doesn't it? Or do they claim that it is an extended "bumper to bumper" warranty?

I would certainly expect that the suspension springs were part of a certified used inspection, and if they were worn out or damaged they would be replaced.

Regarding the part in red, the dealer may have been saying that they don't have to do every TSB to a truck as part of certifying it, which is true. TSBs are only done if the truck presents with the problem the TSB addresses.

If all else fails, find a spring shop in your area and have them re-arch and maybe rebuild the leaf pack. You can have them add a leaf (or two or how ever many you want) when they do that.

When I took my '05 in the other day to see if they would do the spring TSB (it is well under the 36k mileage), they would not do the TSB just because I did not like the loaded ride characteristics, since it was past the 36 month mark.

They did state, however, that under the extended warranty, they would have done the work if the springs needed repairs for damage. Sounds like they know yours are needing replacement...call Toyota, see what they say.

A TSB is just a procedure to fix a problem. If the warranty covers the problem part(s), then the procedure to fix it shouldn't be an issue. If they argue about that, then what excuse do they offer for not using Toyota's published procedure for fixing the problem? Do they have an alternative procedure that they think works better?

I thought certified was bumper to bumper. I was looking at a 07 dclb 4x4 with 73k on it and they said it was bumper to bumper till it hit 100k.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease! Call the 800#.......... They have had enough bad pub and customer issues with the accel pedal recall probs.... Push hard. "I'm never buying another toyota again" or "I'm trading in my wife Camry fro the best selling Hyundai Sonata"........ That will get you some attention, a TSB and maybe an oil change!!

You know... THAT's exactly what I thought, an extension of the factory warranty. But the OP said this:
Sounds kinda fishy if you ask me. I call shenanigans.

So you're not going to call the 800 number? Granted, that's a very generous and nice gift from Lrgrnr, it's still the point of finding out what kind of extended warranty you have and what it covers.

Then it should be covered. Is there a reason you aren't calling the 800 number? Even if to find out if you do have a Toyota warranty? Just curious here.

I will be calling the 800 number tonight, just because I am fed up with finding out new things the dealer screwed me on, they said all tsb's were done, they wern't, they said theres no early payoff penalty on my loan, there is, and the way I was treated when I called the dealer, may speak to the gm as well. I work on hondas and see both sides, theres no reason they shouldn't of done my springs,

hats off to hendrick toyota of apex for gracing me greasepaks to quite my leafs down. never go to hubert vester toyota of wilson
