So I ordered the 6 inch BDS suspension lift with front coilovers. It's a shame it comes with 4 inch rear blocks, so I've been back and forth with Alcan spring on what size rear springs I should get.

Bill at Alcan has told me that many guys who order 6 inch springs say that's too much lift, and end up going with less lift. What would you guys recommend? 4 inch? 5 inch? I've been thinking about going with 5, since the rear blocks that come with the kit provide 4 inches, and springs tend to settle a bit with time.

    Thanks,
    -Ronnie

I suppose if 4" wasn't enough for the rear springs, I could add shackles...

If you want the truck to sit level you only need 4" lifted springs, the truck has a 2" rake low in the front stock so if you do 6" front only do 4" rear

Well sheeeeet, I told Alcan to make the springs 5" a few days ago. Luckily they won't start building until tomorrow.. Hopefully I can contact Bill in time and get the schematics switched back to 4".

Just call him first thing in the morning, you do not want them too tall because you will have to pre load the heck out of your front co's to level the truck and then it will ride crappy

I got them to switch the spring design back to 4" (just in time). Springs should be here in a week, and then I can start installing the lift. Aiming to have it done 2 weeks from now.

I am working with Alcan right now on new leaf packs for my 2011 DCSB TRD OR with bds 6” coilover lift. Was the 4” over stock the correct solution/end result for you? They were discussing 5” over stock for mine w/1000lbs over stock due to the extra weight I am carrying. I just want to get it right 1st time like you.

thanks for the help in advance.
