Just fluid film them . Swapping out springs doesn't work to well either . My dakars did it too after about a month . Fluid film did the trick . Did the whole undercarriage as well but that was after the beach and brackish water trips with it up to the door weather strips. I love this thing.

    Fyi no wet carpet.

Your absolutely right. It's really just a leaf spring thing. Same with my 81.

Same problem same side too. Comes and goes with the weather for me. I usually slab some grease where the springs meet the bolts usually solves it for a couple weeks.

That's why I prefer fluid film it stays wet . It lasts longer . 3m cavity wax works too.

There’s a bracket on the leafs as well that runs vertical on both sides of the ubolts. It’s suppose to have a plastic piece that prevents metal on metal. If the plastic is worn it will rub the leafs, causing very loud squeaking. A hammer fixes this

It took too treatments of a dry lube and heavy doses of dust. Squeaks gone.
