I always felt the rear end of my 16 tacoma need some attention. Was looking at a Icon Progressive AAL to help it out. Now I installed a Decked and it really needs something stiffer. Is the Icon still a good option? I've read of guys using a it with and without the factory overload spring. This is a Double Cab Long Bed. I have a Eibach kit to put up front but need something for the rear.

I do tow a fair amount. A 4 seater RZR and a good size travel trailer. I think air bags would be good for the travel trailer.

    Whats some opinions. Thanks guys

OV tuned. AFE intake, y-pipe, exhaust. OME 2” nitro lift with extra leaf. ARE Cap.
    My 2c:

I carry 5-600 lb of tools (welding gear, power tools, wrenches, etc) most work days. ARB OME with an extra spring handles it far better than stock springs and Minimizes squatting with that weight. Depends on how much you need to carry. Get it to level(ish) with your daily haul imo.

Occasionally, I carry more in the bed... and I’m considering helper air bags for that, plus some UCAs to add front adjustment.

Good luck with the towing. That’s quite a bit on the rear axle without some stiffening.

I would seriously consider a full leaf pack replacement over an AAL. The stock leaf packs are relatively poor and an AAL on top of them is not an efficient upgrade. Especially if you plan on adding weight to the back, you won’t regret a full pack replacement. OME Dakars are not terribly expensive either.

Topper with victory topper rack, blacked out exterior emblems, star armor side steps, TRD CAI, TRD Pro exhaust, Method MR305 NV 16in Rims, TRD PRO front grill, Meso coin holder, TRD Pro skid plate, Kings 2.5 coilovers with remote resis front and rear, OME HD Dakar’s, ECGS, LT285/75R16 KM3s, Dirt king UCAs, Meso gas cap holder, Meso blacked out interior kit, TRD start/stop red button, AVS low profile window guards, AVS low profile hood protector, Full LED upgrades inside and outside, decked bed storage system. And I’m sure there’s more I’m missing lol
I also run a decked system OP and yes the added weight on the stock leaf pack is awful. I did the add a leaf. Did it help some. Yes. Now is it something that’s a long term solution, absolutely not. I agree with others, a full new leaf pack replacement when you can is the best solution. Take care.

I don’t know anything about weight but will say the Icon RXT leaf pack (along with new shocks) Vastly improved the ride. T have it set to stage 1 but it also has stages 2 and 3 for different load handling/lift.
