I bought this tacoma second hand, and I was told that it was leveled and lifted to about 3". The truck looks lifted, has 305/55/20's on there. Was taking a look at the rear suspension today, doesnt appear to have a block in there. There is an AAL (i think?) but wouldn't that only lift about half an inch or so? Can someone help me out, is there another type of lift I am not aware of? Sorry about the ice and dirt in the pics, been a bit messy out there last couple days.

Your right about the AAL. Its ether a 1 1/2 or 2 in. The only other lift would be a block or a complete leaf pack and it doesn't look like that's what you have.

Maybe this is just my own stupidity - but if the leaves are only ~0.5" thick, how does adding a leaf lift it 2"?

The bend, from front to back on leaf springs creates lift.

ahhh yes. makes sense. i was looking at getting 275/70/17's because the wheels on there rub a bit. you think they'll still fit under the 1.5-2" lift instead of the 3" that I thought it was?

Best way to know is look up the spec ' s on the ones you have and then look up the spec ' s on the ones you want . That will give you the best idea .
