I have a '19 TRD OffRoad Long Bed. I have purchased a Leer Topper for it AND in a few weeks the wife and I are planning a camping trip thru the Smokies. So it will have the weight of the topper(probably 150# or so) and the weight of our gear. With tent, coolers and such I am guessing 300-500# or so.
I know if I lower my tailgate and sit on it that it will squat at least an inch. I weigh 275. I realize that my weight is all on the very rear when I sit on the tailgate, but I'm guessing the shell and gear will squat it atleast 1.5" or so.
My question...What is the best route to keep it level with the load I plan on having? I do not want oncoming cars constantly flashing their lights at me and I don't want a nose high look when loaded. If your solution lifts the rear an inch or so I have no problem with that as I plan to put the 1/2" spacer from @HeadStrong Off-Road on it, too. So the front will be lifted about an inch. I'm thinking add-a-leaf but not sure. And if that's the answer, are they hard to install? All help is appreciated...

I get such a kick out of people that stop to make a sarcastic comment, but offer no real info regarding the post...

You should sit level with the weight you have now if you dont add a spacer in front.
If you really have to do the front spacer, you can go blocks or add-a-leafs in the rear. If youre looking at easy to install Id recommend a Roadmaster RAS or Sumosprings

Not sarcastic at all, I was on the campsite thread too.

Also, a comment bumps your post up to the top of the list again.

Hey Jim, I’d throw a progressive AAL on there from @HeadStrong Off-Road. Easy install, lasts a long time.

Another option is to contact someone like Deaver or General Spring and have them make you a full replacement, but based exactly on what you need.

    Or... airbags.

or Sumo springs. not sure you are looking to band aid or short cut needs, but about 200$ and an hour install just may totally take care of you.

Lol...That's my problem. I'm not sure either. I thought about installing a 1" block on the rear the day before I leave, and removing it after I get home. About a 30 minute job to put one of them on...

    Pretty stock for now
I just got my Roadmaster Active Suspension today and will install them this weekend. I didn't want to lift my truck and I work out of my truck with a topper and several hundred pounds of equipment in the bed. The road master is designed to handle the weight better and keep the truck closer to factory ride height.

definitely don't do a block. if you are considering that, do the Sumos. it's the balance of cheap, easy, and an easy change if you want more. i have them and like them for when i haul, but I don't do heavy or trailers, so listen to these guys who run a similar weight setup.

Add air bags to the rear. You can adjust for your load or if you are towing, and lighten it back up when it's empty. You'll increase your load carrying ability but you won't have to deal with stiff rear suspension when it's empty.

I would go leaf pack or AAL if you plan on doing a lift soon anyway. Especially if you plan on having the shell on all the time. I know lots of guys say they don’t get any sag from a shell, but I did bad. Might be a long bed thing.
