you can't do this with shackle hangers...

You'll want several things. Shock relocation and a shackle flip. SUA would be awesome at the cost of the leaf pack hanging low, but holy shit what an improvement. If you get a chance, take a ride in a SUA that's been done right and it should be pretty obvious what is what.

Take a ride in a 4 link and you will realize leaf springs of any type suck. But yes, sua is a dream compared to soa ( from the few trucks Ive been in with sua)

yep, full cage ,4 link, v8...not much left of the original truck. there's better platforms for that level of build.

Its a little bit off topic, but I can say, some people like being different.

Can't do what, what am I looking at? Can you explain, sorry, new to leaf springs... I see that you have SUA and a shackle flip. Agree that is best short of a 4 link, but not sure if we are ready to spend that much. If I am staying SOA, seems like Archive likes his Hammer hangers better than his shackle flip from what I have read... Do I have that right?

The stock shackles are mounted in brackets that hang below the frame rails. I upgraded mine and to the archive but they "hang" low reducing ground clearance compared to the flipped shackle mount from JD that is mounted outside the frame so when the leaf is compressed, everything is tucked away, whereas the stock or aftermarket hangers don't move. The archive hangers and the cross bar was a HUGE improvement over stock but its not the best solution for clearance or travel. It really is a whole other level with the SUA. I would recommenced the JD rear leaf setup and shock relocate but steady your credit card because shock ordering is a long wait and will be for the foreseeable future.

edit: the added benefit here of the shackle is to allow the leaf pack to move with the axle droop with a smoother spring rate at compression.

OP's in NE - having grown up there, there's no reason to go SUA unless you are jumping. The only place you can go off-roading and actually get enough speed where desert style up travel will benefit you is on flat logging roads where up travel isn't required. OP just get a nice leaf pack and keep your money for buying quality components for other stuff on your build.

I could probably stand to go to option 2 but I like my suspension soft as hell so it articulates easily in the rocks. It pairs nicely with my 500 lb coils in the front.

Feel the rear sway leaving it soft or no? I suspect any setup will be better than stock anyways though ;)

My truck leans like a motherfucker around corners with the lack of swaybar and soft suspension. I pretend I’m BJ Baldwin

Thanks, that is the conclusion that I am coming to. Looking at:

Dobinsons 110, Deaver U402 stage 1, or RXT on Option 1

Anyone have strong preferences on one over the others? Truck will be light in the rear...

I was in between RXT and Deavers and decided on RXT because I wanted less lift. Plus being hundreds cheaper helped the decision.

Wheel travel will help in all situations. In order to achieve traction the tire must maintain contact with the ground

I don't think you understand - you're going through stuff crawling where every SOA rig will be fine with a good leaf pack or going on logging roads flatter than a lot of old paved roads if you want to get up to 40+ mph. Living half my life in NE and half in SoCal, I can certainly say in order to warrant a spring under conversion, you would literally need to build a course for it. Save $1000 on the SUA and put it into shock tuning if you want to keep your tires on the ground in NE.

    All of them.
A shock relocation and some decent aftermarket springs will be more than enough for 99.9% of owners.

So I ordered the 934cv kit a week ago, and plan to have my mechanic buddy take care of building the axles when he puts my diff locker in. I'm having a tough time though identifying the additional parts you mentioned I'd need. The description says it comes with boots but unsure if that's just the inner any idea where I can find an outer joint and boot, I see some on ebay but dont trust.
