Rear Sway Bar?

Has anyone put a rear seat bar on their 3rd Gen Tacoma?

I ask because I tow a boat and I read somewhere that they said it helps in stability while towing.

If any has installed one, is there a bolt on one without drilling?

SOS Performance rear sway bar kit with the xRunner Sway bar.

It's meant for a 2nd Gen but I don't see why it wouldn't work on a 3rd Gen.

 

I’ve seen that, but not sure if it would bold on correctly and work correctly.

 

I talked with the inventor/creator of the Adventure Trailers Alterra at Cruiser Fest this past spring. He swears by running NO front sway bar and a hefty rear sway bar in the rear. It slightly reduces rear travel, but handles way better. I can't remember his name and he prefers to be unknown, but he told me he has several sway bars in the batch he had made that are for sale. Clamp onto the axle, bolt to the frame and don't require welding.

I tow with no swaybars and havnt noticed any notable stability issues. Getting some rake back in helped a ton compared to when I had overloaded ome 111's in the back

 

What are you towing? Weight distribution hitch is way to go. Not a cheap one, good quality WDH.

 

I installed the Hellwig about 2 weeks after purchase (June 2023). Huge and very noticable improvement in driving, much more stable without the rearend shimmy that occurs on our pot-hole covered Mass roads!

Also, I have installed a Hellwig on previously owned Tundras, with great positive results, though I do not tow...

 

"Sway bar" can mean two different things.
