guys i had a leaf pack installed a few months ago.. i just noticed that the u bolts are uneven on both sides.. some have more threads showing than others.. just wanted to see what yours may look like or if this is normal.. i put a wrench to them and they are all tight.. C7E8508F-B34E-4B75-974C-1092AB5AA1E7.jpg 7C667C2A-30B3-4AA7-AD67-257CC5B51D63.jpg
You can see that the driver side is angled differently than the passenger.. i don’t know if this has anything to do with the shock location being different on either side.. anyway i had a horrible install done on all accounts and it wouldn’t surprise me if they F’ed this up too.. anyway lemme know

    Thanks..

You're fine if they torqued down to spec, you'd have to do them in increments exactly the same at the same time to get em perfect so no worries haha

Ok even with the base off kilter like that? on the drivers side..the only reason for my scrutiny is that this shop messed everything up..& i mean everything..so I’m thoroughly looking at everything..

It would probably bother me, it's not ideal, but if it is torqued all the way down to specs it shouldn't be unsafe either. Maybe see about having them correct it though, if they do correct it new u-bolts are required as they aren't a reusable part. You could actually easily do it in your driveway if you own a jack and a torque wrench

It shows maybe a lack of attention to detail but as long as they are torqued to spec it's not a problem.

Just noticed on alignment specs that the rear was a bit off on thrust angle.. don’t know if this may have anything to do with it..

Well, thrust angle on a leaf rear end could indicate the axle is shifted, although to do that I'd think more than just uneven u-bolts would be involved.

I doubt it, the trucks are never perfect since the leaf springs align the axle and theres only one way to put it all together.

Yea one mounting plate plate is angled differently than the other.. the alignment tech said it wasn’t anything to be alarmed about..

Generally that's true but having one spring pack installed backwards can do it or not having long enough center pins when you use a shim. It's pretty impossible to get the rear end *perfectly* aligned though, that's for sure.

What brand spring are they? It would be pretty obvious and difficult to do that.

On a 05+ Tacoma it would be pretty bad for sure. But I once bought extra leafs for a set of OME springs I had on another truck where the hole was drilled in the wrong place. It appeared the leaf was rotated when they drilled it but the symmetry of that particular pack only meant the center was slightly, like an inch, different and rotating the springs would be more subtle.
