Thanks, good luck with your move.
I still have to order the plug from Amazon, then find the motivation to install.

I thought I would resurrect this. Good experience with the install today. Realized that I did not need to remove the console at all, once I decided to commit to running the rear USB charger directly to my battery. If I was going to tap power from someplace else, I think removing the whole console is in order...

In any event, I Chose this method for a few reasons; 1. I have an aux battery. 2. I want to be able to, say, leave the kids Ipads or a GPS charging while I am sleeping or having dinner etc. Having the "always hot" charger is key.

I chose the 4.8amp dual usb from Blue Sea. I never trust any other brand. Used 100's between my boat and customer boat installs- never have failed me. Yes, they are pricey. BUT worth it IMO.https://www.bluesea.com/products/1045/12_24V_Dual_USB_4.8A_Chargers_-_Socket_Mount

I skipped right to the 6th page of the instructions listed above in this thread for how to remove the back panel of the cubby. I used the template to find a place and drilled a pilot hole for the 1 1/8" hole the blue sea calls for. Used a step bit to get it right.

Installed the charger in the panel and ran my positive and negative wires to the back and secured it all. 3M Marine grade insulated/adhesive lined spade connectors for added measure.

Then once back at the truck pull the drivers seat all the way up... you can slip the wire under the edge of the trim (between the trim and carpet) that runs all the way to the front of the truck by the gas pedal.

Get the wire started, and then pop the rear console cover with the charger back on. Move the drivers seat all the way back and tuck the wire up under that trim all the way to the gas pedal area. From there, its way easy to run it up under the footwell, and out the grommet to the engine compartment and to the battery etc. I tapped directly to a hot wire for a dash dual usb charger that I installed a few weeks ago. It was an 8g wire, plenty of current to run both chargers at once should that ever happen.

maybe this will help the next guy....

It says 5v 2amp but if you want more there’s the standard AC

This is exactly what I want to do. I am surprised that you got this installed without having to cut into the console cubby hole.

Nice. I'd like to find that with Quick Charge ports on it. These are 2A and, in my experience, 2A isn't enough amperage for a fast charge. I love the form factor though. I'd think getting the one with the power cord attached would be best. Then it'd just be a matter of tying it into the inverter wiring.
