Yeah I wired it to the inverter with the 400w anytime mod.

If fast charging is needed you can always use this. Also, I like the outlet since it’ll charge a 120w laptop, or two.

Builtin is so much better. How long would that last sticking out with kids in the back seat? Not long, I'm betting.

Probably not, but I don’t have kids. But I do have a lot of rechargeable devices like flashlights and some with a standard AC plug, so that’s why I went the route.

There’s a ton of USB outlets online to choose from and yes just wire directly to the inverter.

When I did mine I put a 110 inverter, a 12V outlet and 2 USB ports.. no regrets at all. Use all of the ports, no issue with room behind there at all :)

If you do any of these mods for USB and don’t do a 4.8/5amp smart USB Charging Port it is a waste of all of your time. Might as well not do it.

Anyone has any idea where I can find, or what would I even look for(name), I just did the 400 Watts Anytime mod and would like to add a power outlet to the back of the console, however, I'd hate for my kids to kick and break it.
A small, 2.5"×3" recessed plastic cubby on which to cut a hole for the outlet?
