I tried all the suggestions including heat gun to rid the moisture. The image is glaring and faded so i guess i will need a new camera. I switched tail gates with a friend having the same truck and the image on the mirror was perfect, so it is definitely a problem with camera.

does anyone know of an after market camera that would work as well or do i need to go to Toyota. Also what should i expect to pay for it?

I got mine off eBay (new OE unit) for $115.

Don't even bother asking a dealer, unless you just want some yuks.

Be SURE the camera you are buying has the correct pin configuration. They are not all the same, and your profile/post does not state your year.

$115 for that little camera? I guess I'm old school but I rarely use my rear view camera....I would just do without.
