This seams difficult to do, however I wish I could adjust the rear view mirror to a higher position (closer to the roof of the cab). Where it sits from the factory the mirror becomes a blind spot and is just in the way. does anyone have any ideas of how to proceed in making this adjustment ?

You can also turn the arm part to the side upwards which raises the mirror. Hopefully this makes sense. It raised mine like a half inch or more.

It’s still a little low for taller drivers in the upward most position.

I’ve had vehicles without the compass window feature, where you could just flip the mirror upside down, thereby giving an additional inch or two of clearance for your line of sight.

On some mirrors, the articulating arm can also be adjusted upward, but on the Tacoma it only adjusts up to horizontal.

Flipping the mirror on the Tacoma results in an upside down compass (not necessary, and there’s a compass in the dash if you need it) but it’s a tight fit against the headliner with the short windshield.

Perhaps the standard manual control anti-glare mirror is not as thick and has a control lever that can be moved away for clearance from the headliner to allow flipping the mirror. That would work better for taller drivers as a replacement.

    Safety first.

I did this on my way to work. I didn't realize it could go up. I still wish it was further, but it's better than before.

I think it has its own screen. Scroll to the right one or two times from your steering wheel control. It shows the current speed limit also.

Bird Dawg Indust. mirror riser, I bought one but haven't tried to install it yet. Supposedly it fits the 3rd gen., but I've got to look at it more closely and figure out how to move the wires.

Not on my truck! Wonder if you need the built in navigation.

Someone once said you can get a clock on the drivers display, but I don't see that either.

I'll look tonight. I don't remember a clock. The navigation screen can be adjusted to show a clock in one of the panels though. I do like that. It's nice and big.
