Yep, grew up in SoCal and remember some really bad fires during those winds. Just moved up one state and we got it bad last few years. This year we got a break.

I'm in the Oregon mountains now.
Well be ready and stay safe. At one point they said the fire was moving a football field every 3 seconds.

Ohhh we are back to that huh?.
That was what happened to Paris last year and why so much was lost, a tsunami of fire.

My 19 has that giant camera box. Yes, the rear view mirror is double jointed. You can push the arm up and angle it back down.
I'm 6'2", can't sit in a Tacoma with a sunroof, but managed to get the mirror out of my face. Not the best, but it's about even with the bottom of the camera box Spyware thingy now (view wise).

Can take a picture if I remember in a few hours from my eye height.

    Hope that helps.

I was able to raise the rear view mirror on my 2019 SR5 a couple inches. I don't even notice the TSS.

Yes, this helps! A picture would be great, too. Thank you.

I'm 6'1 245 lbs with apparently the longest torso ever. I can't sit in a new Tacoma with a sunroof, either. I bumped my head 3 times on the headliner when I turned to look over my left shoulder and check my blindspot.

Anyway, I'm assuming the rear view mirror was set in the low position because it was even with my eye-level....right in my line of sight.

Awesome! Thank you. This might be the deciding factor in me buying a new Tacoma. It's definitely good news. My sales person definitely didn't know about this feature. Haha. I most certainly complained about it.

I have a 2018 with TSS and yes, it does have this adjustment. Its not much, but it does help.

Pitch black outside so brought truck into garage.

(not going to ever learn how to post pics here properly I guess lol)

I moved my head around, the camera housing behind the mirror is exactly in line with the bottom of the reflector part of the mirror. If I were to modify my mirror mount, I'd only get the bottom bezel of the mirror as a gain., not worth it to me.

I ended up not getting the sunroof package, upgraded my speakers, bought clazzios and a set of heated seat pads and still came out ahead. (now just need to finish those installs...)

Another thing that helped me, I slightly reclined my seat, gives me almost enough headroom to have gotten the sunroof lol.

Edit: Also have a dashcam on the left side of my mirror, can't see it at all. Wanted to put it on the right like every car I've ever had, but stuck out too far because of the Tss camera thingy.
Last edit: I've got a little paracord bracelet one of my nephews made me years ago hanging off my mirror, if you were wondering what the thing in the middle sticking down was, not stock lol.

at 5’8”, I didn’t realize the box was even there until I sat in the passenger seat. It’s tucked fairly neatly behind the rear view itself, does not at all impede forward view.

Both the collision warning and lane departure can be turned off entirely. The sensitivity is also adjustable. I leave the lane departure off 90% of the time, and it stays off when the truck is restarted. The collision avoidance or whatever has never come into play in the month that I have had my truck, in traffic at least. It beeped at me once in a tunnel near philly that had some funky lighting inside, but other than that, I have never been aware that it was running.
I will also say that I have never been a fan of cruise control in any vehicle I have owned. However, I did try out the radar based cruise control in my tacoma last weekend while driving home to CT from Cape May, NJ, and it was downright surprisingly good. I can see myself actually using cruise control regularly on long trips for the first time with this system.

Oh ok, that makes sense. Maybe raises it an inch? That would definitely help. Thanks for the picture.

That would be awesome. Maybe someone will make a product for the TSS equipped models (if that product doesn't work). Even still that big black box might block the some of the view. I find the rear view mirror width is what causes the most obstruction, blocking my view of cross traffic.
