rear view mirror lights? out?

strange maybe but i just noticed at night time my rear view has that little pale green light on the left side of the mirror. but theres not one on the right? normal? out? whats it for? lol

 

I believe that's part of the auto-dimming feature. When the lights coming from behind are too bright the mirror dims so you don't get blinded.

try pushing the power button when it's running? you can turn off/on the auto dimming.

 

Sounds odd. My 2013 mirror doesn't change to orange, it just turns the green led off when auto dim has been shut off. Have you tried it at night to verify? There will be a noticeable difference when auto dim is off versus on.

 

Weird, yeah does seem like a mirror malfunction. I don't even remember anything in the mirror menu that could address that problem.
