trying to avoid trial and error wiring my Valentine One with a mirror tap. I’ve got a brown, blue and white wire in the plug. Does anyone know what wire is positive and what is negative?

excellent, I was just reading through your post too! many thanks... The only thing I didnt like about the blendmount was that since it hangs below the mirror, you lose some visibility in what seems like an already small windshield viewing area. It looks like I can get my V1 mounted just to the right of the mirror and still see the bogey counter...

What kind of connectors are you using there?

That’s called Mirror Tap. Small spade typle blades that slide in next to the pins in the plastic plug housing and grab power.

Can you buy just those style connectors? I'm having trouble finding just the prongs to hard wire in my dash cam.

    Use a volt meter.
If you check out my build thread, about midway down the first post I show how I did my detector with wire taps and the pins.

I’m assuming you can source them from someplace but I went to the guru of all electrical shops and they had never seen them.

Also I think Mirror tap makes dashcam specific cords too.
