Rear wheels bounce when first driving away.

    so sometimes I have noticed (especially when coming out of a turn). That when I first accelerate from a complete stop, the rear of my truck will seem to violently shake. This doesnt always happen, but rather seems to happen more when starting off at a turn or something like that. If I take my foot of the gas it then goes away and I can continue to drive like normal and go on about my day.

    Like I said rarely happens. No, I don't try and drive like a racecar, just typically normal smooth acceleration from a stop. It only happens occasionally and only from a complete stop. I have a factory suspension, no lift, no tires outside of factory specs. I have factory rims.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    What year? How many miles? Assuming it's not related to your driving style (and it doesn't sound like it is), then I would get the back of the truck up on jackstands and give everything the wiggle test with as much effort as you can. Re-torque your rear leafs, check your carrier bearing, and generally go over everything with a fine-tooth comb.

    216K miles...i replaced the carrier bearing 100k miles ago...

    Pinion bearing? It under stress at that time in what your explaining. Is it leaking or how much play do you have in it? Just a thought, many more many more smarterrrrr guys around here. :)

    Usually not the bearing that goes, it’s the bushing surrounding it. Tell us more about the rear of your truck.

    Does it have a lift? If so, what?

    Have you checked torque on all bolts? Ubolts and all other leaf spring related should be torqued to 85ft#’s.

    How old are your shocks? Mileage? Any leaks?

    That means you should check it again, you have about the same number of miles on the replacement as on the original. And of course check the u-joints. The recommendation to be on jack stands is appropriate for this check, so chock the front wheels well.

    If you have access to a GoPro or similar with a magnetic mount, or an old cellphone you're willing to strap to the frame to shoot a video, you should be able to catch the source of the vibes if they're coming from the bearing or u-joints. Someone posted a video of carrier bearing bouncing around several months back, it was decisive proof of the cause of his Taco's vibes.

    I suspect carrier bearing. Get under the truck and check that, the u-joints, and the transmission mount.

    Doesn't matter how many miles ago you replaced it, get under there and wiggle it. If it wiggles, then it needs replacing again. 100k is about all I get outta mine. Would be a good time to do U-joints as well.

    the number of miles was just for reference to the earlier post. I know that miles dont always equate to "time to replace"...lot of other factors can influence drivetrain component wear (type of terrain, towing, etc.)

    when you replaced the carrier bearing did you go OEM or Spicer? The big box store brands will shred within a few thousand miles. Climb under there and push up and down; side to side on the bearing and report back.
