    Can anyone tell me where I can find what size the rearend is and what gears? I want to get some type of manually actuated locker for it.

    2002 Tacoma doublecab, SR5, TRD, 4 banger. 2.7l

    And is the 2.7 3rz rated at about 170 hp?
    How much torque?

    You should have a gear code on the door jam that gives all the gear info. Its will be a 4 digit code: B07A, or the like. the Engine is rated at 150 hp, and about 180 ft-lbs torqe

    Sorry guys, still having trouble determining if I have a 7.5 or an 8.4 rearend. I am looking at the lock right lockers. They are 1/3 the price of arb's and ox and offer just about the same performance. Any help would be appreciated.

    If the truck is all original, you could take the VIN to a dealer and have them run it for you and get an answer to your question(s).

    Still having no luck getting my powertrax no-slip locker for my 2 wheel dr tacoma. All there listing is a 8.875 and an 8 inch. If mine is a 8.4 with 4:56 gears and open diff, does that mean they dont make an application that will fit my tacoma?

    Yea, Just not sure since all they list is up to "2001". I would hate to order one for $475 and find out that it doesn't fit since my truck is the only vehicle I have now. We have a richmond plant a few miles from me. I'll try calling in the morning. Thx Chris

    It's an 8" rear and the diffs are the same for 95.5 - current taco with an exception to the e-locker and 5 lugs.

    OK. Thx everyone. My main choice would have been a cable type manual actuator, something like what Ox makes. Unfortunately they dont offer one for the toyotas. So is it possible to just buy a new toy diff with the elocker already installed and a harness to bolt right up? I have looked at eaton, detroit, Ox, lock right and richmond and arb.

    Basically I am a moderate 2 wheeler that does quite a bit of hunting and fishing off road and I am looking for a selective locker for the rear that will give me true 2 wheel drive when I need it. It is also my daily driver and serves me well on long distance road trips. Otherwise I would just weld the spider gears or get a detroit locker. Any help is appreciated.
