I'm not looking to hang all kinds of stuff from the mirror, I just want more range of motion. I've got a Wolfbox mirror and the extra "OEM mounting" bracket doesn't let me put the mirror where the actual OEM mirror and bracket let me. I think a Ram mount ball would be good, or an arm that has an elbow like factory.

This is what I ended up doing.

I didn’t like how low the rear view was on the stock mounting. Even with the ball joint raised at the maximum.

now I can put it literally anywhere.

Yea the stock mounting is way low, I love that riser plate I picked up from a member(not active) here. I've been emailing with RAM mounts about it but they can't get it through their heads that they don't have the product that I want and I am hoping they'll take the oppurtunity to make it. The last product they offered as a solution was this threaded piece... IDK how they expect that to work with the wedge style mount we have.

Now if someone could machine a wedge style mount with a 1in Ram ball on it I would totally pay for that! Could even machine a plate to accept a screw thread like this from RAM.
