I guess when people order there lift they over accommodate thinking their factory bumper weights 300 pounds and they buy the heavy duty springs instead of what's recommended

That isn't as bad as some I've seen you can mistake that for having some weight in the bed

Agreed. I told one guy at a meet that his truck looked like it was squatting to piss. He wasn't real happy about that.

Coming from a desert racing background/prerunners, having the rear higher vs the front is not bad (stink bug). This is for modified pickup trucks (not buggies or cars) with their rear frame rails still intact of course. Having a lot of rear end bump travel (lots of up travel from ride height) is advantageous if you don't want your truck to get kicked end over end when the rear bottoms out. If you look at class 7/8 unlimited desert trucks they sit kind of stink bug (even with their rear frame rails modified upward out of the way). Unless you notch the frame rails or do a total half back (cut off frame rails) its kind of un-avoidable. With all that said keeping a lower ride height makes sense in terms of stability so why lift up the front to "match" the rear.

The "cali look" is for kids who can't afford to get a proper rear suspension set up and settle on some gnar gnar mickey mouse lift up front. I guess at some point other people thought this was cool and now we have all these disco trucks rockin the cali look brah.

This. It comes from the so cal desert culture pro/trophy/class 7 trucks or Ivan Stewart stance copying. Some COULD call it the Carolina squat, but the east coast didn’t get the memo until recently.

It's easy to lift the front and harder to set the rear height with the right load with the leaf springs.
For off roading it shifts more weight to the rear.

I think the first one was probably an accident and the colorful dude claimed it as a new style rather than fix it.

I born/raised/lived in the San Diego East County/El Cajon area since the early 70's. I grew up around all of these dudes because that's where many of the pros came out of and this stuff started even before Stewart. We called it The Desert Rat Lean.

Yup. SD is the epicenter as far as I’m concerned. The number of shops that have no name that can belt out a full on race ready rig are countless, and most of them are in El Cajon/santee or Miramar.

If you’ve lived there, you know you can’t hit a 4way stoplight without seeing something like this

No. Cause she's from Texas and did all her laughing before she came to FL to find what she was looking for.
